What is BPI MS Comprehensive Motor Insurance?
- The BPI MS Comprehensive Motor Insurance comes with an extensive coverage to protect your vehicle from Accidental Collision and Theft, as well as protection from damages caused by Fire, Explosion, Lightning and Self-Ignition and Malicious Damage. This will also respond in the event of an injury or death of third party arising from an accident caused by the insured vehicle. Damage to property of a third party caused by the insured vehicle is also covered. This is a highly recommended insurance package for all vehicle owners (terms and conditions apply).
How different is the Compulsory Third Party Liability (CTPL) with the Comprehensive Motor Insurance of BPI MS?
- The Compulsory Third Party Liability (CTPL) insurance is the basic insurance coverage required by the Land Transportation Office when you register your vehicle. This coverage will answer for the death, disablement and medical expenses of a person injured arising from an accident involving your vehicle.
- The BPI MS Comprehensive Motor insurance goes beyond the liability to third parties. This insurance package will respond even to own damage, theft, accidental collision to other vehicles and more. Plus, for qualified vehicle, it has a 24-hour Express Roadside Assistance (ERA) that will respond to you in case of a car breakdown or other road emergencies. We highly suggest that you get the comprehensive cover on top of your CTPL to protect you from further financial loss in case of a road mishap.
What is a Voluntary Third Party Liability-Bodily Injury Insurance (VTPL-BI)?
- The VTPL-BI is an additional coverage on top of your basic CTPL. Major injuries usually require major medical costs. The VTPL-BI will answer your expenses in excess of CTPL's coverage limit. This is a standard inclusion of all BPI MS Comprehensive Motor policies.
What if my vehicle causes damage to another person's property? Do I have coverage for this?
- If you have the BPI MS Comprehensive Motor Insurance, you definitely have the coverage for such event.
- The Voluntary Third Party Liability-Property Damage (VTPL-PD) will respond in case your vehicle damages other people's properties. This is a standard inclusion to all BPI MS Comprehensive Motor policies.
Are my vehicle's passengers covered if they get hurt due to an accident?
- Yes. BPI MS' Unnamed Passenger Personal Accident (UPPA or Auto Personal Accident) is an insurance coverage that will answer for the death, disablement and medical expenses for the driver and passengers of your vehicle in the unfortunate event of an accident. UPPA is FREE for vehicles that are used for private purposes and below 10 years old.
Do you also cover damages due to Flood, Typhoon or other similar events?
- Yes, we do. Natural calamities are inevitable and could cause serious damage to your vehicle. Make sure to get the BPI MS Comprehensive Motor Insurance with Acts of Nature (AON). For an additional premium, you get to keep your worries away for such events that are beyond your control.
What if my car broke down in the middle of the road, can BPI MS help me get towing services?
- In case of a car breakdown, BPI MS will not only help you get reliable towing services, but we will also cover for the fees that the towing company will charge (subject to limits). This is possible if you have the BPI MS Comprehensive Motor Insurance because it comes with a 24-Hour Express Roadside Assistance (ERA) even on holidays! Only vehicles used for private purposes and below 10 years old will be able to make use of ERA.
I have the impression that comprehensive motor insurance can cost a couple of thousand Pesos. Do you have installment payment options.

How do I file a claim?
- It's easy. Just call the BPI MS Claims Department or visit any of the 13 BPI MS branches nationwide and submit your complete claims documents. For your convenience, you will be provided with a Motor Claims guide upon issuance of your policy. You will receive it as an attachment to our confirmation email or via mail. All the necessary information that you need to know when filing a claim will be there. Only vehicles used for private purposes and below 10 years old will be able to make use of ERA.
